FAQ: Why did you select this specific model of LG?

A: There are several reasons we went with this model:

  1. Consumer Reports rated it the highest of all induction ranges, so that was a big motivator. With this "newish" technology (certainly more moving parts than our gas range), I wanted to make sure it had a good reputation.
  2. Aesthetically it worked for us, in that it was simple and matched our other stainless appliances. For example, the GE's Cafe models had great reviews and were way more available than the LG (which we had to wait months for), but they came with an odd copper accent on the oven handle that wouldn't go well in our kitchen. Similarly there were some Bosch models we liked but the control panels were these all black touch panels that were front-facing.
  3. The controls seemed super simple, and very similar to what we were used to with a gas range.
  4. Lastly, the "burner" layout matched how we thought we would cook, with a large one on the front for the majority of our cooking with our cast iron skillet or dutch oven, and a medium size one for our sauce pots.
